PEORIA, Ill. -- Police are investigating another string of copper thefts this week.

The first one happened Friday night at the First Federated Church on North Sheridan Road.

The owner said condensers were stolen from two central air conditioning units outside the building.

Several damaged parts were left behind.

The second theft happened Monday night on Southwest Adams Street.

Police said an unknown suspect removed stole parts from one out of five air conditioner units.

Pieces of copper were left at the scene.

Authorities believe the suspect was spooked and fled before taking the other units.

Six more air conditioners were reported stolen Wednesday night around 11pm on West Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.

They were valued at $6,000.

Police continue to investigate. It's unknown if these incidents are related.
