PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria police are investigating the armed robbery of Tony's Market, 2621 NE Adams St., that occurred on Thursday night.
Authorities spoke to the three employees of the business, who said in summary that after the last customer left for the night, a black male wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, a handkerchief around his face, a black stocking cap and blue jeans. The suspect was armed with a handgun.
The suspect demanded money and the employees gave him an undisclosed amount of cash from the two registers.
The suspect then fled the scene running northbound along the side of the building.
Security footage of the incident was made available to police. Officers have no known suspects.
