Police investigate gas station robbery

PEORIA, Ill. -- Police are investigating the robbery of a Marathon Gas Station, 1920 Forrest Hill Ave, on Monday.

An employee at the business said at 1:45 p.m. a suspect described as a black male, approximately six foot two, 160 pounds and wearing a zip up hooded sweatshirt, entered the building.

The suspect asked to buy a cigar and when the cashier opened the register, he came around the counter and pulled money out of it.

The suspect threatened to shoot the employee, but did not draw a weapon. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have video of the incident. There are no known suspects at this time.
