Police investigate home invasion, robbery

PEORIA, Ill. -- Police are investigating the robbery of a Peoria man in his home on Wednesday.

Officers spoke to the 41 year-old victim at the Methodist Emergency Room. The victim had suffered facial injuries.

The victim said he was outside his residence on the 1500 block of NE Jefferson Ave. at noon when he was approached by two black males.

One of the males asked the victim for a cigarette. The victim said he went inside to get a cigarette for him and was followed into his home by the suspects.

The suspect pulled a gun on him and struck him with it about the head several times. After a brief struggle, the victim told the suspects to take whatever they wanted.

The victim said the suspects took approximately $30 in cash from his wallet and then fled the scene.

Police have no suspects in this robbery.
