PEORIA, Ill -- Police responded to 2515 W. Garden St. at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday due to a house fire that is now being ruled as an arson.
When police arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the building's siding and brush near the residence was in flames.
Authorities say that it looked like someone had poured something in the back of the building and lit it on fire.
The Peoria Fire Department arrived on the scene and quickly put out the blaze. The resident of the home was present during the fire and escaped the home unharmed.
Another arson occurred on Garden St. last Thursday at approximately 2:10 a.m. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.
