PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria police are investigating a home invasion that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to 2920 N. Rockwood Drive just after midnight on a call of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found the apartment where the shots were fired open with glass broken out of the door.
Police spoke to the 42 year-old victim who said that he was in his bedoom when he heard glass shatter and several people walk into his apartment. The victim said that he started to call 911.
When he heard his bedroom door start to open, the victim said that he yelled that the police were there. The victim said he immediately heard two shots fired and then silence.
Police found a shotgun round wedged into the ceiling. The round did not pass through. No one was injured.
A witness said she saw four men outside of the apartment. Officers have no suspects at this time.
