PEKIN, Ill. – Pekin Police have released more information about a double stabbing that happened over the weekend.

Court records show Michael McClanahan, 46, was charged Monday with two counts of Aggravated Battery. The charges stem from an incident at a residence in the 2100 block of Court Street in Pekin on Saturday.

Police said an argument between McClanahan and another man escalated and the man went after McClanahan with a knife.

McClanahan apparently got the upper hand in the fight. He suffered a cut to his abdomen and the other man suffered a deep wound to his right shoulder.

Police said they do not know what caused the fight.

McClanahan was arrested Sunday after he was released from the hospital. His bond was set Monday at $50,000.
