PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police reported three separate copper thefts in the city over the weekend.
On Friday, the owner of a vacant property on 1022 W. Gilbert Ct. reported that approximately $1500 worth of copper wire had been stripped out of the basement sometime during the last month.
On Sunday, the owner of a rental property on 1020 E. Kansas said that copper was cut from the home's water heater, furnace and wiring in the basement.
Also on Sunday, a homeowner said that someone broke into his home on 109 W. Corrington. Two copper air conditioner supply lines were cut out and removed. No other items were reported stolen in the home.
It is unknown at this time if these incidents are related.
