PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Public Library officials said Wednesday night’s heavy rains caused flooding in the rear areas of the library’s main branch.
Due to that flooding, the Children’s Room will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Officials said no library materials were harmed and staff members are working to remove water and dry carpeting.
The delivery room, which is used to sort and transport books between locations, is also flooded. Delivery of materials will be delayed until water can be removed.
Officials said no library materials were damaged.
Children’s areas are open at all other branches. Lakeview Branch is always closed on Thursday.
