PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria City crews are staying busy preparing roads again, ahead of the expected snow.
Crews were out in teams of two Monday filling potholes all around the city of Peoria.
Maintenance worker Tom Brooks said crews have been filling holes throughout the winter, and adds the up-and-down temperatures we have seen this winter only increases the pothole problem.
He said crews tend to do as much pothole repair as they can before a winter storm because if snow gets down in the holes, more pavement comes loose and the holes usually grow.
All the patching done in the winter months is temporary, with permanent patching done in the summer.
City crews are expected to switch from pothole repair to plowing by Tuesday.
