BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A Bloomington woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing from a holiday program for low-income families.

Bloomington police arrested 48-year-old Jodi Lee Wetzel Wednesday morning on charges of Theft by Deception for allegedly stealing $2,500 dollars worth of presents and food baskets from the WJBC Brotherhood Tree program.

WJBC notified authorities about the theft on December 19, after receiving calls about the gifts not arriving.

That was four days after volunteers supposedly distributed them to those in need.

Authorities say Wetzel assisted in the return of most of the stolen presents.

She is scheduled to appear in McLean County court on Thursday.
