PEORIA, Ill. -- Ray LaHood's term as United States Transportation Secretary is coming to an end.

White House officials say President Obama has found replacement for LaHood, who indicated he would stay on until a successor was in place.

LaHood is one of a few Republicans in the President's cabinet.

Officials say the President will nominate Charlotte, North Carolina Mayor Anthony Foxx.

Mayor Foxx is President Obama's first African-American nominee among his second term cabinet appointees.

Foxx's nomination still needs to be confirmed by the Senate.
