ELMWOOD, Ill. -- The Elmwood community is mourning the death of a 13-year-old boy.

James Dakota Ramp died around 5 a.m. Monday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, according to Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll.

Ingersoll said Ramp was found unresponsive by his mother around 8 p.m. Sunday in the family home.

The Principal of the Elmwood Jr/Sr High School says the administration spoke with the family Monday, as well as Dakota's teachers.

He says despite social media rumors, no one was aware of any bullying.

The administration is calling Dakota's death a tragic accident.

Counseling was made available to all students Monday.

Funeral services are pending at Oak-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood.

The cause of his death is still being investigated by the Coroner and the Peoria County Sheriff's Office.
