PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria residents will soon get a chance to voice their opinions about a proposed baseball complex.

Last month developer Mark Peterson and Louisville Slugger announced plans to build a dome and 10 field sports complex near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie.

City Councilmembers are now making sure they address neighbor's concerns.

At-large Peoria city councilman Chuck Weaver said developers have already moved the dome to the east-side of the property.

He says they are willing to work with neighbors on other issues.

"Trying to use those west fields that are closest to neighbors on a limited basis, so those would only be used as overflow fields in the evening, that's a request that's been made," said Councilman Weaver.

At-large Peoria city councilman Eric Turner said he is for it, "If there's anything we can do to make them more comfortable with this deal, but it's not often that you get a deal like this and you don't use a lot of taxpayer dollars in order to make it come to fruition."

The public forum will be held at the Peoria Public Library North Branch this coming Monday, January 13th at 6 pm.
