PEORIA, IL -- In light of the events in Boston, we wanted to know how safe you feel in a large crowd?

From the head of emergency services in Peoria to parents watching their children perform at the county courthouse the answers varied:

"Where else to create fear than to hit hometown America. Cause if you're not safe in Peoria, Illinois or your smaller hometowns, where are you safe. We planned for that long before 9/11 ever happened,"Dwain Deppolder, City of Peoria Emergency Manager.

"I really didn't even give it a second thought to be honest with you. Maybe I feel safer here that it's a smaller town. Peoria versus a Boston, but again I think that I have the perspective that I hate to have something like that deter me from attending an event like this. I didn't even think about it as I pulled in here, I was trying to make sure I made it out here on time to be honest," Seth Davis, Peoria resident.

"I wake up almost everyday thinking you never know what's next. If it's something out in a crowd or a car accident. There is just a brevity of life that is always on mind anyway. So it's just kind of that's life. Those things happen,"Tina Backstrom, Washington resident.
