Quinn Visits Peoria to Cheer on IHSA Basketball

PEORIA, Ill -- The Governor put politics aside to cheer on teams at the IHSA State basketball tournament.

Quinn says he's a huge Illinois high school basketball fan and applauds Peoria for keeping the spirit alive.

"Well, I think Peoria does a great job, says Quinn. "It is the heart and soul of Illinois. High School basketball is all about education, playing hard. Win or lose, everybody comes out ahead."

Governor Quinn usually makes the trip out to the Peoria Civic Center for March Madness.

Three-A and Four-A games are scheduled to kick off next weekend.
