PEORIA, Ill. -- Governor Pat Quinn announced Thursday more than $586,000 in investments for bridge projects in Fulton, Marshall, Mason and Peoria Counties.

“These projects will maintain and improve several bridges along key transportation routes,” Governor Quinn said. “The projects will also employ several construction workers, which will help the local economy, as well.”

One project will involve washing four bridges over the Illinois River to prepare them for upcoming projects. The bridges include Illinois Route 18 and Route 17 in Marshall County, Illinois Route 40 in Peoria and U.S. Route 136 in Mason and Fulton Counties.

Another project consists of bridge deck sealing on various structures throughout Illinois Department of Transportation District 4, which includes a large area of central and western Illinois, including Fulton, Marshall and Peoria Counties.
