MORTON, Ill. -- Governor Pat Quinn announced an investment of $86 million to reconstruct the I-74 and I-155 interchange.

"Investment in transportation in one of the best ways to grow our economy and create jobs," Quinn said.

Fred Weber, Inc. was the lowest of three bidders for the work with their quote of $86,596,214.

The work will involve the reconstruction of the Interstate 74 and Interstate 155 interchange and the reconfiguration of the Interstate 74 and Morton Avenue interchange.

The work will occur from west of Pleasant Hill Road to just west of Main Street, and on Interstate 155 north of the Birchwood interchange. The project is scheduled to begin April 1 and should be complete in late summer 2015.
