EAST PEORIA,IL--Record setting snowfall and extreme temperatures have produced ice buildups on many central illinois roofs. So much in fact, it could be building up in your gutters. Warm temperatures Tuesday and a freeze tonight could cause water to back up into roof shingles. That could produce water seepage inside attics or walls inside the home.

Crews with one local equipment company have been very busy spraying hot water on roofs to try and speed up ice removal.

"It would be a lot more costly to let that process run its course where you are having water get into the house and you've got drywall damage or electrical damage or any other consequence because of that," said Jesse Getz of Getz Equipment.

Water pressure spraying takes three to four hours depending on the size of the home.
It could cost about 3 to $400. on average.
