Peoria has a newly redrawn district map after more than a year of discussion, but not without controversy and a close vote.
The Peoria City council voted six-to-five to choose what's known as map "B".
The map had been previously dismissed.
According to our partners at Newsradio 1470, it was was brought back for consideration when council members could not reach a decision.
Mayor Jim Ardis voted against map "B" last night, which appears to have the least impact in terms of geographic change.
Council members Spain, Spears, Van Auken and Sandberg also voted no.
Voting yes in the majority were council members Turner, Weaver, Irving, Akeson, Gulley, and Riggenbach.
