PEORIA,IL-- Now that the Peoria Riverfront Museum has settled into its new home, some familiar faces will be moving in to the former Lakeview site.
Next Spring park district administrative staff will relocate to the, which is currently being renovated. The $2.6 million renovation project will provide much needed office and storage space for Park district employees.
For years, park district staff has outgrown its current location inside the pavilion building at Glen Oak Park.
Since April crews have been removing asbestos. Park District Executive Director Bonnie Noble says electrical and plumbing work is set to begin before major renovations get started. She says the relocation will also allow for work to start on the children's museum, which will be housed inside the current administrative office.

"What's so wonderful is this is finally all moving forward and it's a domino type movement. You get one done, the next one comes right behind it, and yet we have all the plans in place," she said.

The building recently was name the "Bonnie W. Noble Center for Park District Administration," in honor of Noble's 40 years of service. Renovations are scheduled to be completed next March.
