Report: woman hugs police officer, dies after gun goes off

A tragic incident in Detroit over the weekend.

According to the Detroit Free Press, a young Detroit woman was killed early Sunday morning when, according to police, she hugged an off duty police officer at a party and the officer's gun discharged.

The officer's gun was in a holster attached to his waistband and covered by a shirt at the time of the incident, according to the Free Press report.
