PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria City officials are calling the new bridge on Wilhelm road a major East-West connection for area residents.
Officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday to mark the completion of the $1.8 million project. The new bridge connects Wilhelm road between Allen and Radnor Road.
Peoria city councilman Dan Irving says the bridge will serve as a pipeline connecting subdivisions in the West to Knoxville Avenue. The project was part of the growth cell agreement between the Peoria City and County governments.
