Rural Gridley man arrested after domestic incident

GRIDLEY, Ill -- A rural Gridley man was arrested Monday after police received an emergency call where gunshots were heard in the background.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 1:15 a.m. Officers found the victim at a residence approximately a quarter mile from the scene of the incident.

The victim was treated for injuries sustained during a physical altercation and released.

The suspect was in the residence and police were told that he had a weapon and had been drinking. At 5:45 a.m., officers contacted the Illinois State Police, looking for assistance from the ISP's Tactical Response Team.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Curtis Keith Cleary is being held on charges of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Cleary is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
