PEORIA, Ill. -- Thousands of people donated while enjoying dinner at the Saint Jude Shrimp and Corn Boil at the Itoo Hall in Peoria.

This is the fourth year for the event sponsored by Kroger Company's Central Division.

Last year, the corn and shrimp boil raised $25,000 for the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

All of the corn is donated by Ted Maddox Farms out of Warrensburg, Illinois.

"He picked it Friday, sent it up to us, we shucked it all Friday, and now we're cooking it today,” says event organizer and Kroger manager Mike Joseph. “So that's corn that we sell inside of our Kroger stores throughout his season. He donates all that corn, so it's a great way to support him, and he helps support Saint Jude."

The event ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at a cost of $10.00 per plate.
