MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- With road salt in short supply across Illinois, relief may be coming soon.

Two ships have delivered about 50,000 tons of salt to the port of Milwaukee.

A spokeswoman for the North American Salt Company said the supply is for customers in Wisconsin and Illinois.

It comes from Ontario, Canada where the world's largest salt mine is located.
