PEORIA, Ill. -- Central Illinois models hit the runway Tuesday to benefit the Salvation Army Heartland Division.
Community members packed the Four Seasons’ ballroom for a look at the latest fashions in the Salvation Army's annual Style Show.
Models of all sizes and ages, including our own Chuck Collins, sported a variety of outfits from local retailers.
This year's event called "Project Runway" also allowed Bradley students to make dresses out of garbage bags, shower curtains and other non-traditional materials.
"It is a design oriented show,” said Chairperson Debbie Knost. “I am a big fan. I had seen an exhibit of dresses made out of unconventional things and I thought that would be so fun.”
Last year the event raised $86,000.
All of the money raised goes toward the Salvation Army's Tree of Lights Campaign.
