PEORIA, Ill. -- Congressman Aaron Schock returned to his alma mater, Richwoods High School, on Thursday to discuss politics.

The 18th District Republican met with a government class filled with questions on his personal journey to the Capitol, his likes and dislikes of politics and of course, current events.

Schock says visits like this are beneficial for the students, even those not interested in a political career.

"Whether these young people ever want to go into politics or not, the reality is that they need to be engaged in their communities," said Congressman Schock. "They need to be educated on current events. So I think my presence here today helps them be able to ask questions, of me and of current events, but also get them engaged politically."

Schock says that many of the political discussions on today will effect the younger generations the most tomorrow.
