PEORIA, Ill. -- A semi-accident backed up traffic on interstate 74 Saturday afternoon.

It happened just after two o'clock on interstate 74 eastbound near the St. Francis hospital exits.

Details are sketchy but authorities say weather played a factor.

Peoria Police say the semi truck driver lost control after he hit a slippery spot and slid into one of the concrete barriers on the side of the interstate.

That caused traffic in the eastbound lane to be back up for quite a distance.

Police say there were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

The semi driver suffered minor injures and was taken to a hospital.
