EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Carver Lane was closed down for some time on Thursday after a freight train struck a semi-truck.
According to East Peoria Police, the driver of the semi, 65-year-old Steven Francisko of East Peoria, failed to make it across the tracks in time.
His semi-trailer sustained heavy damage. It is not known how much damage was sustained by his cargo of metal fabricated parts.
Neither Francisko nor anyone on the train suffered any injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
