PEORIA, Ill. -- Route 116 near the McClugage bridge was down to one lane Saturday evening after a semi-truck hit the overpass coming off Route 24 westbound getting onto 116 westbound.
Illinois State Police say it happened early Saturday afternoon. The semi was hauling manufacturing equipment and wood that secured the equipment on top of the rig hit the top of the bridge.
It's unknown how much wood covered the roadway. Troopers say the bridge was slightly damaged but is still operable.
No injuries were reported.
