SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- On Wednesday night, the Senate Public Health Committee approved, along party lines, two gun control measures.
One is a ban on certain semi-automatic weapons, including all 50-caliber rifles. The other bans ammunition magazines containing more than ten rounds.
As the bills are written, guns and magazines purchased before 2014 would be grandfathered in.
The measures are expected to be voted on in the lame duck session.
