CHICAGO, Il.-- US Senator Mark Kirk, who has been recovering from a stroke he suffered in January, released a statement Frday thanking his doctors and constituents.
The 52-year-old senator also told the public just how many steps he has been taking to recovery: just under 15 miles a day on average.
Kirk has been recovering at his home since May and attending a walking research trial at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
