CHICAGO -- Nearly one year after suffering a stroke, Senator Mark Kirk will return to the Senate Floor.
Kirk suffered an ischemic stroke last January, which limited movement on the left side of his body.
In a statement today, Kirk's Staff confirmed the Republican's return when the Senate convenes on January 3 for 113th Congress.
Throughout the year, Kirk has documented his recovery progress in several videos released to the public.
In his first post-stroke interview last month, Kirk said the videos are meant to give a message of hope to others who have suffered from a stroke.
