PEORIA COUNTY -- Justice is delayed for the surviving family of a Peoria man who was gunned down almost two years ago.
A Peoria County jury found Skylar Jordan guilty of murder back in February.
Five months later, Jordan has yet to be sentenced for his crime.
After he was convicted, Jordan fired his defense attorney and requested the public defender.
Sentencing was scheduled to happen today, but instead Skylar Jordan's latest defense attorney withdrew from the case.
Assistant State's Attorney David Gast objected to delaying Jordan's sentencing any further saying the victim's family was 'entitled to some closure.'
The Court appointed a new defense attorney and rescheduled the matter for August 31st
