Services set for Morton man killed in DUI crash

MORTON, Ill. – Visitation is scheduled Friday for a Morton man killed Sunday in a drunk driving crash in Normal.

Jacob Andrew Garber, 20, was pronounced dead just after 6 a.m. Sunday from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of College Avenue and Mitsubishi Motorway.

The driver of the other vehicle, Braiton A. Holloway, 20, of Bloomington is charged with aggravated driving under the influence.

Garber served in the Army National Guard as a member of the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron 106th Cavalry in Kewanee. He was recently promoted to the rank of specialist.

Jacob was a criminal justice major at Illinois State University student and a 2011 graduate of Morton High School. His hoped to be accepted one day into the Illinois State Police.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grace Church in Morton and Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Rock Church, Spring Bay, followed by the service at 10 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Morton Community Foundation for the MHS Marching Band Endowment Fund.
