Sex offender arrested for loitering near Bloomington schools

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Bloomington Police are reminding parents and teachers to remain vigilant for any suspicious activities at schools, daycares and parks after the arrest of a registered sex offender near a Bloomington elementary school.

Sean M. Garmer, 42, was arrested late last month and charged with two counts of being a sex offender loitering near a school after he was seen loitering around two Bloomington elementary schools.

Garmer was convicted in 1992 for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse/Bodily Harm and again in 2010 for failure to report as required by sex offenders.
