Shooting numbers down for city of Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. -- Overall shootings are down in Peoria for the first half of 2013.

The City of Peoria Weekly Issues Report shows that shots fired dispatches have dropped 34 percent over the last year.

Incidents where a person was shot have fallen 11 percent, with 32 incidents so this year.

However, the numbers of deaths caused by a shooting is up 1 percent.

A total of six people have been killed this year, the latest homicide occurred on June 24 in the 1800 block of west Kettelle.

Police are still searching for the suspect in that case.
