BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The non-official start of the holiday shopping season is quickly approaching.

Walmart, Toys R Us, Kmart, and Sears all plan to open their doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving day.

At Bloomington's Eastland Mall, the Schmidgall family has been camping outside of Sears since Monday.

Their eyes are set on the 50 inch TV deal, hoping to snag 5 of the monster screens for less than the price of 2.

"So, try and save a little bit of money, and I'm out here with my family. So got my two sisters, my mom, so it's actually like a family thing," said Black Friday camper John Schmidgall.

"Well, some families go camping for Memorial Day, we go camping for Black Friday," said Black Friday Camper Renee Chesmore.

Renee Chesmore and her family are camping outside of Best Buy, which opens at midnight on Friday.
