PEORIA, Ill. -- Kroger employees were shucking corn for kids of St. Jude on Friday.
This weekend Kroger and the Itoo Hall are hosting a shrimp and corn boil.
The proceeds will benefit the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
Area Kroger stores have been a St Jude supporter for more than 30 years.
The General Manager said the stores connection to the hospital is close to their employees' hearts.
"It makes me very happy to help the children of St. Jude," said Kroger General Manager Mike Joseph. "It affects so many families that work for our company and our customers and their relatives. Unfortunately I have some relatives right now that are St. Jude patients. It really touches a lot of people and it's always great to help raise money for the kids."
The St. Jude Shrimp and Corn boil is Sunday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Itoo Hall.
Plates are $10 a piece.
