Shut-downs scheduled for Decatur CAT facility

DECATUR, Ill. -- Citing slower than expected economic growth, Caterpillar executives said Monday there would be shut-downs at the company's Decatur facility.

Caterpillar says those shut-downs in Decatur would take place for one week in November and all of December.

About 20 percent of the Decatur work-force would be affected.

Besides short-term economic risks in the United States, a slowing of China's growth and the Eurozone debt crisis were named as causes for the shut-downs.
