DOWNS, Ill. -- A LeRoy man is dead after his truck veered off the road and hit a tree near Downs, Illinois.
Crews responded to a crash on U.S. Route 150 at 102 North Highway around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Upon their arrival, rescue personnel found the sole occupant of a pick-up truck, 39-year-old Chad Baker, without obvious signs of life.
He was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:30 pm.
According to the McLean County coroner, Baker died from multiple injuries, specifically to his neck, chest, and pelvis.
Authorities said there was no evidence of any medical event that happened prior to the crash. Illinois State Police are inspecting Baker's cell phone and truck in an attempt to uncover why the crashed occurred.
