CHICAGO -- When you select a soda from the vending machine, the calorie count will soon be right at your fingertips.
Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper are rolling out new vending machines that will feature calorie counts on the buttons of the machines.
The machines will launch in Chicago and San Antonio Municipal buildings next year.
The American Beverage Association, which represents Coca-Cola, Pepsico, and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, ways the machines will remind customers to consider alternatives, with messages such as "try a low-calorie beverage".
