ILLINOIS-- State of Illinois officials, Friday, released a list of proposed rules for medical marijuana.

Not among them, was a proposal that would have made it illegal for someone to possess both a FOID and medical marijuana card.

So as it stands now, gun owners can use medical marijuana.

That's bringing mixed feelings to some local residents.

"Impairment and operating a firearm certainly isn't the right thing to do," said Midwestern Firearms owner John Meek.

"So you're going to give someone a medical card to have marijuana, and then allow them to have a FOID card, I just don't think it's a good combination," said Peoria resident Andrew Burgess.

"I don't see the difference with them having a medical marijuana card or having the FOID card at the same time," said Pekin resident Andrew Vickers.

The public has 45 days to comment on the draft rules.
