South Side Bank warns of scam

CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- South Side Bank officials are warning consumers about a texting scam making its rounds across the area.

According to a press release, many South Side Bank customers -- as well as non-customers -- have received texts that prompt them to call 309-550-7282 to reactive their debit card due to it being deactivated.

The bank confirms the text is a scam and they are currently are working with authorities to shut down this number.

Do not to call the number.

South Side Bank will never text, call, or email anyone requesting any kind of personal financial information.
