Sportscaster Gordon Joyner dies at age 92

PEORIA, Ill. -- For those old enough, you may remember sportscaster Gordon Joyner.

Gordon was a staff announcer at WEEK and in 1963, was pressed into service after the death of then Sports Director Hank Fisher.

Gordon kept doing the sports on News 25 for the next ten years.

His last appearance here was in September of 2003 at our 50th anniversary party here in the studios when he did part of a sportscast with other former employees.

Gordon died early Tuesday afternoon at in home in Peoria at the age of 92.

The cause of death is not immediately known, but he had a history of heart problems.

The Davidson-Fulton funeral home is handling arrangements.

Gordon Joyner died at the age of 92.
