IDOT, state and local police are teaming up to help keep you safe this St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Police will be enforcing additional roadside safety checks, saturation patrols and safety belt patrols Friday through Sunday. State police say ten people died in motor vehicle crashes last St. Patrick's Day, and ask that anyone who consumes alcohol designate a sober driver.

Authorities also have a message for party hosts, warning that you can be held liable and prosecuted if someone you served is involved in a drunk driving crash.
