COALFIELD, Ill -- The Illinois State police are set to honor one of their own.

Thursday, the Coalfield rest stops on Interstate 55 will be renamed the "Trooper Kyle Deatherage Memorial Rest Stops."

Trooper Deatherage died in November of 2012 after he was hit by a semi while making a routine traffic stop on I-55.

This will be the second memorial for the officer. Last summer, a section of I-55 was named in his honor.
