EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- IDOT said a big-rig that got stuck for several hours Monday on the Cedar Street Bridge was not in violation of any permits.

East Peoria and state police spent about seven hours working to get a stuck truck carrying a caterpillar bulldozer off the off-ramp of the bridge.

The truck driver, Paul Masters, of Casper, Wyoming got stuck between the guardrails.

State police inspected the rig but issued no citations.

IDOT said Masters had a permit and was traveling on an authorized truck route.

Crews were able to remove the truck from the bridge shortly after 11 pm.
