PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria residents will soon have another option when it comes to transportation.

Monday night, CityLink approved Sunday bus service.

Nine routes will be offered in Peoria.

The new service will benefit riders who have no other form of transportation on Sundays.

"We will reach key areas of the city and will allow people who work on Sundays, or who need to do other activities, to be able to do so," said Anna Buehrer, director of marketing and public relations at CityLink.

"I speak out for a lot of the passengers, so we're just very very grateful that the board has passed our Sunday service," said CityLink passenger Kathleen Hillard.

CityLink is planning to start Sunday service in June.
